As part of their training, geriatric nurses have to learn about incontinence, not just the causes but also caring for people with it.At the start of a lecture, the trainees are all made to spray warm water on their crotches to imitate wetting themselves. They then have to sit there in soaked clothes for the rest of the lecture, to empathise with their future patients.
